Paolo Scaroni’s words earlier in the week expressing an openness to selling players caused some alarm, but a clarification has arrived regarding his comments.
MilanNews writes how there was a lot of discussion about the words of the Milan president, who – in an interview with Corriere della Sera – explained the decision to fire Paolo Maldini and dismiss Ricky Massara.
He also provided some guidelines on what the Rossoneri’s next moves will be, starting with some details relating to the current transfer market.
“In the meantime, I remember that in four years we have invested more than the others, some will say not always well, but our shareholders have allowed us to build a strong team and we will continue together on this path,” he said.
“I think we will have to make some sales, and close some significant signings. We are ambitious.” These words – especially the bit about selling players – certainly caused some alarm.
MilanNews add that Scaroni was referring to all the players who are considered transferable by Stefano Pioli. Ante Rebic and Tiemoue Bakayoko are two of them, while Fode Ballo-Touré and Yacine Adli can be added.
Ciprian Tatarusanu, Aster Vranckx, Sergino Dest and Tiemoue Bakayoko will all depart, while it cannot be absolutely excluded that players such as Charles De Ketelaere and Junior Messias leave too.
