Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is eager to keep Harry Kane this summer despite the striker being eager to leave this summer.
The 27-year-old has told the club he wants a move once the summer transfer window opens, and will apparently push to leave before the European Championships.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are all said to be interested, though Levy is reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival.
But Levy has history dealing with disgruntled players, having sold the likes of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric in the past, and has been known as a tough negotiator.

And Spurs fans should be fairly confident of keeping Kane if Levy’s dealings with Chelsea in the past are anything to go by.
Modric was eager to leave Spurs in 2011, and at the time he was one of the best players in the world.
The midfielder was unhappy with Spurs missing out on the Champions League and looked for a move away, with Chelsea determined to sign him.

Modric met club owner Roman Abramovich and was eager to make the move, and wrote in his autobiography: “I wanted to move to a more ambitious club.”
Those comments are reminiscent of Kane’s feelings about his future, with the England captain desperate to win trophies.
But Levy refused to accept a bid from Chelsea purely due to the rivalry between the two clubs and his determination not to strengthen a rival team.

Instead, he opted to wait a year and let Modric go to Real Madrid in the summer of 2012 – eventually accepting a lower bid than Chelsea’s a year prior.
Kane is still eager to move clubs and start competing for trophies, but it seems he’ll be out of luck if he has his heart set on a move to Chelsea.
Paris Saint-Germain remain interested, with Mauricio Pochettino looking to reunite with his former striker.
And judging by Spurs’ past dealings with Chelsea, Levy is unlikely to change his mind and facilitate a transfer.
The chairman could instead opt to wait a year before letting him go to PSG or Barcelona, who are also said to be in the mix.
Barca are set to sign Sergio Aguero, but might be tempted to look at Kane in a year’s time.
