Funes Mori’s dream Mexico debut: A goal after just three and a half minutes!

Rogelio Funes Mori had a dream Mexico debut, scoring in a 4-0 victory over Nigeria. Mexico were continuing their strong preparations for the Gold Cup and, with this win, they will now look forward to starting the tournament on July 10.

Funes Mori scored the second goal of the night in the fourth minute. The move started in midfield with Jesus Manuel Corona on the right side, who exchanged with Hirving Lozano inside the box. He then played it to Funes Mori to slot home and make it 2-0.

Born in Argentina, Funes Mori has taken advantage of a change in FIFA’s eligibility rules to play for Mexico.

“It’s a dream come true to have debuted with this team,” he said after the match.

Gerardo Martino‘s side will take confidence from this win and look to take this form into this summer’s tournament.
