Real Madrid are intensifying their efforts to secure the signing of Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni for the 2022/23 season.
The 22-year-old has been on Los Blancos‘ radar for a long time, even before he became a France international under Didier Deschamps.
And now according to Miguel Queipo of SoyMadridista, Real Madrid‘s chief scout Juni Calafat is understood to have flown to Monaco to hold discussions with Tchouameni‘s representatives and sound out the possibility of a deal.
MARCA previously broke the news of Real Madrid‘s interest in Tchouameni, and now it seems the club have made him their number one target to provide competition to – and be an eventual successor for – Casemiro.

Los Merengues boss Carlo Ancelotti has tried fellow France prodigy Eduardo Camavinga at the base of the midfield this term, but he and the club feel a specialist – like Tchouameni – is necessary.

Negotiations for the former Bordeaux player might have gone even quicker before now but for Real Madrid‘s focus on strengthening their forward positions.
But they are now aware of the need to beef up other positions.
Tchouameni and his agent Jonathan Kebe are understood to have been approached by other clubs, but Real Madrid head the queue due to their previous communication with the player.
