Mbappe on his future: I think everything will be sorted out for the European Championship

Kylian Mbappe believes his future will be decided by the start of the European Championship in June, as Real Madrid continue their negotiations with the PSG star.

Ahead of the friendly match between France and Germany, Mbappe appeared in front of the media alongside Didier Deschamps for the fourth time since he took over the captaincy of Les Bleus just over a year ago.

And the 25-year-old left several interesting clues about the outcome of his future, in addition to confirming whether he would be participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The most important issue that remains unknown is when he will communicate his decision to leave PSG publicly, with the club already informed of his intention. But on Friday, Mbappe finally set a deadline for the issue to be sorted.

When will Mbappe make his announcement?

Mbappe doesn’t often get to speak in front of the microphones, but when he does, people listen intently. As the press conference began, everyone in the room was left waiting for a statement on the outcome of his future – and Mbappe was crystal clear about the message he wanted to send.

“I think everything will be settled by the European Championship,” the Frenchman told reporters.

Unfortunately, he did not give the news that everyone was waiting for, about which club he is joining, and insisted he would deliver an announcement as and when there is news to report.

“I have nothing to announce. The day I have something to say… I will say it,” Mbappe added.

Clearly, the forward is focused on finishing the season in the best possible way with PSG and is not looking beyond that as it stands: “Our objective is to remain focused on all competitions. My future is irrelevant,” he declared.

Naturally, he was also asked about how the doubts surrounding his future could affect his performance at the next European Championship, to which he replied: “I’ll be focused on the France national team when the European Championship comes around. I think it will be sorted out by then.”
