Man City 1-2 Leeds: Stuart Dallas gives 10-man United shock win at the Etihad

Leeds defied the odds to take all three points at Manchester City, despite playing over half the match with just 10 men.

Stuart Dallas scored his second goal of the game in second-half stoppage time to give Marcelo Bielsa’s side the most unlikely of victories.

Whites skipper Liam Cooper was given his marching orders for an ugly lunge on Gabriel Jesus just before the break with the visitors already in a surprise lead thanks to Dallas’ strike in off the post.

Ferran Torres restored parity in the second half but Leeds continued to have their moments on the counter attack, and Dallas struck a second beyond Ederson to seal the win in the dying minutes.

Raheem Sterling had just spurned a good chance for the hosts when Leeds broke down the left.

Helder Costa passed inside to Patrick Bamford and he laid off for Dallas, who struck with a fine effort from the edge of the area which went in off the base of the post.

Leeds were reduced to 10 men just moments after taking the lead as captain Cooper was sent off for a poor challenge on Jesus.

Cooper was initially shown a yellow card but referee Andre Marriner upgraded that to red after reviewing the incident on the pitchside monitor.

City pressed for an equaliser after the break and it finally came 15 minutes from time as Bernardo Silva flicked the ball into the path of Torres and the Spaniard clipped it past Illan Meslier.
