Manchester United fans have been getting very excited as their club looks set to embark upon a new era.
It was confirmed on Monday that German coach Ralf Rangnick is to take charge at Old Trafford until the end of the season, when he is expected to move into a consultancy role with the club.
The new appointment is sure to spark a wave of changes at United, with the new boss set to run the rule over the current playing staff in the next few weeks.
But it’s not all good news, as the new Red Devils manager has already been delivered his first blow – before he’s even officially taken charge.
It comes as Cristiano Ronaldo has also suffered a blow after finished well behind Lionel Messi in this year’s Ballon d’Or, and the winner has sent a message to United’s star man after claiming the award.

Messi’s honest message to Ronaldo
Lionel Messi has sent a message to Cristiano Ronaldo after the Argentine claimed his seventh Ballon d’Or on Monday night.
Messi was crowned this year’s winner ahead of the likes of Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who all enjoyed very impressive years themselves.
But Messi has now claimed a record seven Ballon d’Ors – and he fired a warning to Cristiano Ronaldo after being handed the latest award.

Rangnick suffers United blow
Ralf Rangnick has suffered his first blow as Manchester United boss after being told he will not be able to appoint his former right-hand man as his assistant at Old Trafford.
Lars Kornetka, who worked with Rangnick at Locomotiv Moscow, will be replacing his former boss as their Head of Sports and Development at the Russian club.
The pair had previously also worked together at Hoffenheim, Schalke and RB Leipzig and Rangnick will now have to find another backroom team member to help implement his methods at Old Trafford.

The new boss will run the rule over his squad once his visa issues are finally sorted and he arrives in England to begin work, but there are already worrying signs for some United players.
