The Reds’ prolific pair have already scored 20 Premier League goals between them this season.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently second in the table as a result, one point behind champions Manchester City.

Mane famously showed his frustration at Salah not assisting him during a Premier League game against Burnley in September 2019.

The Senegal international would’ve had a tap-in if his team-mate had squared the ball, but Salah unleashed an ambitious shot instead.

Mane was substituted moments later and raged on the bench, with colleagues Roberto Firmino and James Milner consoling him.

The incident dominated headlines but didn’t derail Liverpool’s season, as they went on to storm to the Premier League title.

Speaking about the row to Egyptian broadcaster MBC Masr TV via the Liverpool Echo, Salah insisted his relationship with Mane was absolutely fine.

“We are team-mates on the pitch and in the dressing room, we have a very professional relationship,” said the forward. “We both give everything we have to help the team win.

“Maybe we’re competing to show who is the best, and this is normal in any team and a legitimate right for any player, but in the end, we serve the team.

“Sometimes we’re selfish in some plays, but no one puts their interest above the team.

“It’s not intentional, whether from me or him, perhaps there was some tension in a previous match and now everyone tries to associate everything with it.”

On the Burnley match, Salah added: “This was the first time people talked about this matter and linked every ball that I didn’t pass to him or he didn’t pass it to me to this situation.

“But Sadio assisted my goal two games ago and I assist him as well.”

Salah has nine assists in the Premier League this term, more than anyone else, while Mane has one.

The Egyptian’s outstanding form saw him nominated for this year’s Ballon d’Or, but he could only finish seventh in the vote.

Many were disappointed with the snub, with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher branding Salah the “best player in the world” after his brace against Everton two days later.

Fellow Reds icon John Barnes, meanwhile, described the talent’s ranking as “harsh” and insisted “individual accolades really mean nothing”.

Speaking about the snub, Salah added: “At the end of the day it’s people’s opinions, but in my mind, I’m the best player in the world.

“That’s what I say to myself. I can’t say that I don’t want to win the Ballon d’Or or FIFA’s The Best, of course, I want to win either of them.

“But if I don’t win either of them, there is no problem. Everything I want, I usually get. I know that I will win either of them later, I’m not worried.”
