Peter Crouch absolutely savaged Rio Ferdinand after his theory on Paul Pogba was denounced by his fellow BT Sport pundit.

It comes after the Frenchman’s celebration following his goal in a 1-1 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor.

Manchester United came into the match desperately needing three points to help bolster their position in fourth.

But Burnley were fired up as they look to stave off relegation once again and fully deserved their point which puts the Red Devils’ grip on fourth place in a precarious position.

And it had all started so brightly for United, who had the ball in Nick Pope’s net on three separate occasions but two goals were ruled out.

Pogba’s fine strike did stand, though, after finishing off Luke Shaw’s low cross with style and his celebration caused a stir in the BT Sport studio.

The France international made his way to the bench where he held up three fingers after scoring his first Premier League goal in over a year.

BT Sport host Jake Humphrey asked Ferdinand: “First goal in over a year, he looks straight over to the manager [Rangnick], I wonder what he’s saying here, Rio, what do you think, three more years?”

The United legend agreed: “Three more years I’d say.”

But Crouch quickly hit back: “Three more weeks more like!”

It drew laughter in the studio with the former Liverpool and Tottenham striker’s comments likely alluding to Pogba’s contract situation.

There have been months of speculation over the 28-year-old’s future with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

But the arrival of Ralf Rangnick has appeared to spark the midfielder back into life after a season to forget due to injuries.

The World Cup winner was one of a few bright lights for the Red Devils against Burnley with a swashbuckling display in the middle of the pitch.

And there have been reports that Pogba might end up signing a new contract at United as his options whittle down.

Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain had been linked with the £89m man, who would be available for nothing should he not pen a new Red Devils deal.

But Real have prioritised Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, PSG are likely going to look to replace their talismanic forward, while Juve are strapped for cash.

Meanwhile, Rangnick was incredulous with referee Mike Dean’s decisions to rule out two United goals.

The German coach said: “I think we played a fantastic first half, couldn’t have played any better. We scored three goals, the second that was disallowed I cannot understand. It was a very, very soft decision by the linesman. He flagged the foul five or six seconds after it took pace.

“Anyway it was 1-0 at half time, we knew they would come out in the second half in a more aggressive way and the only thing I can complain the team about was we were not aggressive enough in the first 20 minutes of the second half.

“If you look into the whole game we dominated for most of it. Winning one point is not enough and another frustrating again.

“It really surprised me he flagged when the ball was in the net.

“Had he really seen the foul? The first I can understand why it was disallowed, it was a hard one, but the second I cannot understand.
