Operation Kane gets underway… and Havertz disappears

Real Madrid are going to sign a striker, regardless of what might happen in the summer of 2024 with Kylian Mbappe and the guaranteed arrival of Endrick.

The chosen one is none other than Harry Kane, the Tottenham and England striker that Real Madrid have been working on signing for the past ten days.

The decision has been made, despite the fact that those at Valdebebas know and are aware of the nature of the negotiations with Daniel Levy, the London club’s chairman.

Benzema‘s unilateral decision to leave Real Madrid has made it a matter of urgency to bring in an out-and-out striker, aside from the arrival of Joselu, and Harry Kane is the choice of both the coach and the club, despite the popular clamour pointing towards the idealistic Mbappe and Haaland pairing, at least for the time being.

Havertz was interested… but has dropped off the radar

MARCA can confirm that the player who has fallen off the radar is none other than Kai Havertz.

The German is currently undergoing renewal talks with Chelsea and Real Madrid have told this newspaper that they have not made any moves for the former Bayer Leverkusen man.

Kane, who is 29 years old and has one year left on his contract with Tottenham has given the go-ahead for the possible deal, which could be worth around 80 million euros.

Promises from the recent past, such as the refusal to transfer him to either Manchester City or United, the end of his contract and Spurs’ absence from Europe all play in favor of the deal happening.

What is clear to Real Madrid‘s directors is that the signing of a striker is urgent and necessary, but they are not prepared to spend more than 100 million euros on a 29-year-old player whose contract is running down.

The shadow of Hazard‘s arrival in similar circumstances is hanging over them.

Positive on Kane

Real Madrid‘s reports on Harry Kane are positive in all aspects. Professional, with a very clear head and, above all, with an innate ability to score goals.

He is not your typical No.9 who doesn’t move in the box.

What’s more, some see him as a striker in the style of Karim Benzema because of his ability to drop to either flank.

His transfer is on the verge of being a challenge, given how difficult Levy is to deal with, as he demonstrated with the moves for Bale and Modric.

The circumstances are different and the commitment shown to Kane could make it much easier for Carlo Ancelotti to reach an agreement, as he considers the Englishman to be the ideal replacement for Benzema.
