The transfer saga involving Harry Kane looks set to rumble on for the entire summer after his optimistic deadline was missed.
Kane stunned Tottenham bosses after reports emerged that he wishes to leave the club during the current window.
The striker has enjoyed a stunning career at Spurs after coming through the academy in north London.
In his most recent campaign, the 27-year-old finished atop of both the Golden Boot table and the assists chart in the Premier League.
He will now be looking to add a European Championship Golden Boot to his collection, as well as a winners’ medal with England.
Shortly after news broke that he was looking to leave Spurs, it was reported that Kane would like to have his future resolved before Euro 2020 kicked off.
That always appeared highly unlikely, with England meeting ahead of the tournament two weeks ago.
Gareth Southgate made it clear that he believed that any potential Kane transfer would take place after the tournament ended.
“I am talking across the board here, I think it’s very unlikely transfer deals will be done while we’re away,” the England boss said last month.
“I’m very realistic about those things. We’re not going to stop phones ringing. We can’t control conversations that are going on in private, but I wouldn’t expect it – I think most deals are done at the end of tournaments or they are done in the first week after the end of the season.”
Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have all been credited with an interest after Sky Sports claimed they had made contact with Kane’s representatives.
At present, there has been no official bid for the player, with Daniel Levy insistent Spurs will not sell their star asset before the start of next season.

Any potential suitor will need to fork out more than £150million to get Kane, with the player’s preference being to stay in the English top-flight.
With the championships starting on Friday, it looks crystal clear that any move will now be after the final, which takes place at Wembley on July 11.
Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen believes that rumours regarding Kane’s future will have no impact on his performances for Gareth Southgate’s side this month.
“It’s out there in the public that there could be a change of club for him, so there is speculation,” he explained.
“If he’s thinking that, he’s been thinking that for the last year so I don’t think anything is really going to change from that perspective.
“If he was an 18-year-old we could question it, but I think he’s so experienced, I can guarantee you one thing, once he crosses that line the last thing he will be thinking of is Manchester City or Manchester United or Real Madrid, his focus will be on this competition and this tournament.”
Meanwhile, Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle thinks that Levy may accept a cash-plus-player offer if one of the Manchester clubs formalise their interest.
Speaking at a Betfair event, Hoddle told Mirror Football : “I don’t think anyone’s going to cough up £150million, I think they could cough up £100million plus two players, if it’s Manchester City, Manchester United, whoever.
“That deal isn’t an easy done and dusted deal when you’ve got three years left on your contract; he might still be at Tottenham.”
