Gareth Bale passed fit to face Liverpool in Champions League final after training with Real Madrid

GARETH BALE has been passed fit for the Champions League final.

The Real Madrid superstar, 32, has not played for the Spanish giants since April 9 with boss Carlo Ancelotti citing back trouble.

But Ancelotti confirmed Bale, who is chasing the incredible feat of becoming a European champion for the fifth time, is available for Saturday’s final showdown against Liverpool in Paris.

Italian Ancelotti, who also declared that ex-Chelsea star Eden Hazard is fit to play, said: “Hazard is fine.

“He can play in the final, Bale too. All the players want to play, even if it’s five or ten minutes.”

The Stade de France showpiece will be Bale’s farewell to Real as he departs the Bernabeu after a trophy-laden nine-year spell when his contract expires this summer.

The Welshman has picked up three La Liga titles in addition to his four Champions League winners’ medals.

Bale was named in Ancelotti’s provisional squad for the La Liga champions against Real Betis last Friday night.

The Wales captain, however, failed to make the final cut and was not even on the bench in the goalless draw.

But he’ll likely be a part of the matchday squad for Saturday’s clash with Liverpool.

The former Spurs man was a thorn in the Reds’ side in the 2018 Champions League final, in which he scored a spectacular brace.

Bale has not played for Real since he was booed by the club’s fans when he came on as a sub in the 2-0 home win over Getafe on April 9.

He has been backed by Welsh manager Robert Page to make a sensational move to hometown club Cardiff because it “ticks all the boxes”.

Bale is missing Wales’ training camp in Portugal due to his club commitments as his team-mates prepare for the World Cup play-off final against Scotland and Ukraine on June 5.

Bale has reportedly been offered to Real’s local rivals Atletico, but agent Jonathan Barnett insists a decision on his client’s future won’t be made until the summer.

He recently told Portuguese newspaper Record: “He leaves Real Madrid, but it all depends on whether Wales qualify, then we will make a decision.

“Is it more likely to return to England? I think so, but we’ll have to wait and see if Wales qualify for the World Cup.”
