Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund are already preparing Jude Bellingham’s departure

Borussia Dortmund are starting to prepare for the departure of their star player and Real Madrid‘s big target for next season, Jude Bellingham.

The English midfielder is also wanted by other European giants such as Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund know that it will be difficult to keep him next season, so they are preparing to replace him, just as they had to with Erling Haaland.

The transfer of Bellingham will be worth around 100 million euros and the German club want to resolve his future as soon as possible to be able to move to secure their own targets in midfield.

To that end, Hans-Joachim Watzke, Borussia Dortmund‘s chief executive, has revealed that they will hold talks with the midfielder and his family after the World Cup is over.

“I think as soon as the World Cup is over, we will have a general discussion about what he really wants,” Watzke commented to Bild TV.

“We will speak with him and his parents, with whom we have a very close relationship, and, of course, with his advisor.

“He should tell us whether he wants to stay or whether he wants to leave.

“In both cases, we will have a very pleasant and reasonable discussion between us.

“But we don’t have to pretend that the issue is not on the table. If the really big clubs are involved, then we can’t afford to have a financial fight.”

Real Madrid’s midfield rebuild

This is a development that points towards the player joining Real Madrid, after MARCA reported on October 6 that he is a major target for Los Blancos.

The European champions want to bring to a close the process of rebuilding their midfield following the arrivals of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni.

Bellingham would be seen as the icing on the cake to complete the transition from the mythical midfield formed by Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
