Kroos postpones decision about his Real Madrid future

Toni Kroos first placed his faith in Real Madrid back in 2014. He left Bayern Munich behind, arriving at the club as a World Cup winner, and from day one he showed a commitment beyond any doubt.

The German has gone on to become a reference point for Los Blancos. All in silence, with hard work and respect, which he has shown once again this season when the Real Madrid directors offered him to extend his contract, which expires in 2023, for another year.

Kroos did not hesitate and said that it was not the time, as he first wants to know how he feels ahead of next season before committing the club to another year of contract.

His answer was sincere, not because he had any doubts about his potential performance, but out of principle of loyalty to Real Madrid.

Kroos simply prefers to wait, to see what his body and his head tell him before committing to Real Madrid, because he doesn’t want to end up being a burden for the club.

The 32-year-old is happy in Madrid and at Real Madrid, as he is enjoying his football and the lifestyle. Above all, he has principles and those are loyalty and faithfulness to the badge that he has defended since he landed in the Spanish capital.

He has stated on more than one occasion that he does not intend to extend his playing career for too long and that he would like to finish it at Real Madrid.

Kroos has never given any problems to the club, and his last renewal was solved without any long negotiations. It was what both parties wanted and the deal was concluded quickly.

Kroos has never lost his status as a starter since he arrived at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Carlo Ancelotti considers the former Bayern man to be indispensable, the player capable of bringing the ball forward and starting things off with his incredible vision and passing ability.

Other renewals at Real Madrid

Real Madrid‘s management have also offered a renewal to Nacho Fernandez, who is close to an agreement, while Dani Ceballos and Marco Asensio, the other two players whose contracts expire in 2023, have yet to settle their futures.

Now, everything has been put on hold until after the Champions League final on May 28, as has happened with Kylian Mbappe and his arrival.

The club are only thinking about the Liverpool game, although it is inevitable that there will be talk of the future.
