The number of clubs interested in signing Rafael Leao continues to grow but it is Real Madrid who have a big bid ready, according to reports.
Calciomercato.it report that the Milan management are struggling a lot in their attempts to find an agreement for the extension of Leao’s current contract, expiring in 2024. In October, the meeting between the management and his entourage did not lead to the desired turning point and the negotiation has not moved forward since then.
In the meantime, the interests of the big European clubs is enough to worry the Rossoneri as PSG and Chelsea are keen, but so are Manchester City and a new suitor is even mentioned in Bayern Munich.
However, the report also cites Spanish source El Nacional in claiming that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was convinced to offer €80m for the Portuguese winger, but first wants to evaluate the 23-year-old’s performance at the World Cup.
Should good indications arrive from Qatar, a bid of €80m will be sent but it is at least €20m away from the figure requested by Milan to even consider a mid-season farewell. A €100m minimum asking price has been set, considering the €150m clause in the forward’s contract, but the club remain hopeful of a renewal.
