Erling Haaland: Where will he end up?
While a number of Premier League clubs will be fighting to the final seconds of the transfer deadline to get deals over the line, Manchester City appear set for a comparatively quiet end to the window.
Even with Ferran Torres’ move to Barcelona, manager Pep Guardiola is happy to put his faith in the group of players currently at his disposal and potentially integrate some youngsters into the setup too.
Nevertheless, speculation is still lingering in regards to City’s potential incomings ahead of the next campaign.

Dybala interest
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Sport Witness ), Manchester City are one of the clubs monitoring the situation regarding Juventus forward Paulo Dybala.
The Argentina international is out of contract at the end of the season and as a result he is currently free to hold talks with clubs outside of Italy with a view to a free transfer in the summer.
Liverpool have been mentioned as possible suitors and in the aforementioned report City are also said to have taken an interest.
Guardiola is reportedly a big fan of Dybala and as a result the Premier League leaders are said to be ready to offer him an annual salary of €10 million (£8.34 million) to make the switch to the Etihad Stadium.
Haaland opens up
Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has said he felt the time was right to speak out on his future.
The Norwegian sharpshooter has been linked to a number of clubs in recent months, with City recently cited as the front-runners for his signature in the summer.
Haaland said recently that he felt under pressure from Dortmund to make a decision whether he leaves and in another interview with Sky Sports he provided some context to those remarks.
“I don’t really want to say too much about it, but I felt it was time for me to say something,” he said. “A lot of others were speaking – so that was it. Now, I don’t want to say too much. I said what I said, and now we move on.”
City still targeting striker
According to Sky Italia, the signing of Julian Alvarez from River Plate will not prevent City from signing a striker in the summer.
The champions are expected to wrap up the signing of the forward this month and send him back to Argentina on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
While Alvarez shone for River last season with an incredible 18 goals and six assists in Liga Professional, he is not expected to be plugged in and played at the point of the team’s attack in 2022-23.
“He’s considered a ‘star for the future’, won’t affect City plan to sign top striker,” said Romano.
