FC Barcelona – La Liga: Official: Barcelona loan Trincao out to Wolves

Trincao will play in the Premier League in the 2021/22 season, with Barcelona and Wolves having come to an agreement for a loan transfer with a non-compulsory purchase option.

The 21-year-old Portuguese forward was signed by Barcelona from Braga, arriving in the summer of 2020. Over the 2020/21 season, he played 43 times for Ronald Koeman‘s side, scoring three times and providing two assists. Five of those matches came in the Copa del Rey, as the Blaugrana won the competition.

Now, he’ll form part of the project at Wolves in the Premier League for 2021/22, becoming the latest in a long line of Portuguese signings that the club have made.

“He’s a really exciting player and it’s an area we’d like more competition, in terms of wide players,” Wolves‘ technical director Scott Sellars said of the move.

“I think the fans are going to enjoy watching him play. He drives with the ball well and has good creativity.

“We’ve watched him a lot, especially over the last couple of months, so he’s been on our radar for quite a while. He’s got loads of quality – signing for Barcelona from Braga shows what potential he’s got.

“He’s 21 and has played quite a lot of games in LaLiga, so we think he’s ready for the Premier League.

“He’s a player who drifts past people and he has a great change of direction when he’s moving with the ball. He has great speed over two or three yards, to change direction and get away from people, can score and create, and is an exciting player.”
