Arsenal have a long standing interest in Kokcu having tried to sign the player in 2020 but local rivals Tottenham are now ready to go head-to-head with the Gunners in the race for the Turkey International.

Nevertheless, Tottenham recruitment staff have identified Kokcu as a player who can help improve the team’s fortunes next season regardless of who is in charge.

Returning from a two month injury lay-off in January, Kokcu has impressed in Holland since his return to fitness and displays have not gone unnoticed. 

He was named in the Eredivisie team of the month for February and March and the Dutch top-flight’s young player of the month for March.

Kokcu would highly likely qualify for a work permit under new Brexit laws because he is a starting player for Feyenoord and a full international.
