Tottenham in advanced talks for Atalanta duo while Danny Ings waits on Manchester offers


With pre-season well underway for Premier League clubs, so is their summer transfer business.

Due to Euro 2020 likely delaying some of the summer’s biggest moves, the top players are now free to sit down and discuss their futures.

Whether it be Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal, each club has plenty of reasons to keep the rumour mill turning.

Jadon Sancho, although not yet officially a Red Devil, is the biggest switch this summer so far but with Ben White, Jack Grealish and Harry Kane all potentially on the move, plenty more fellow English stars could soon join him on the move.

That is without mentioning the likes of Erling Haaland and Raphael Varane, who are both keenly admired by the English top-flight.

Here, Mirror Football gives you some of the latest transfer rumours from around the Premier League.

Henderson’s Liverpool future uncertain

No significant progress has been made in discussions between Liverpool and their club captain, Jordan Henderson, over a new contract.

The Athletic were first to report on the ‘sensitive and complicated’ complicated situation, although talks are ongoing.

Henderson’s contract does not expire until the summer of 2023, Liverpool have less of a panic on their hands than when they attempted to tie Georginio Wijnaldum down last year, only to lose him on a free to Paris Saint-Germain last month.

Ironically, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be keeping a close eye on developments at Anfield as the 31-year-old considers his future after captaining Jurgen Klopp’s side to Premier League and Champions League triumphs.

Atletico Madrid are also said to be in the mix thanks to Luis Suarez, who would relish the prospect of being reunited with his former Reds team-mate in Spain.

Spurs in advanced negotiations for Atalanta duo

Tottenham Hotspur are in advanced negotiations to sign Cristian Romero and Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta, report football.london.

New managing director of football Fabio Paratici is scouring the transfer market for incoming boss Nuno Espirito Santo and the Serie A pair could help shore up the Spurs defence.

Sevilla sensation Jules Kounde and former Fulham loanee Joachim Andersen have both been linked with moves to north London but it appears Paratici will swoop for Romero instead.

The Argentine centre-back, 22, is in the middle of a two-year loan from Juventus after signing from Genoa in 2019 and has impressed under Gian Piero Gasperini.

Atalanta have the option to buy the player for €16million (£13.8m) and the club are set to exercise their option a year early, with Paratici then going into negotiations with the Bergamo-based side.

On goalkeeper Gollini, the 26-year-old was once of Manchester United in his youth before starting his senior career at Hellas Verona.

Briefly with Aston Villa during their days in the Championship, the Italian has been a key figure in Atalanta’s recent rise to the Champions League.

Ings hoping for Manchester offers

Wantaway Southampton striker Danny Ings is waiting on offers from Manchester clubs United and City, according to talkSPORT .

The 28-year-old has refused to sign a new contract with the Saints and instead wants to join one of last season’s first and second-placed Premier League clubs.

Previously of Liverpool, Ings has rebuilt his reputation down on the coast after hears of injury struggles but returned to the England setup thanks to a stellar in 2019-20.

Selling would see Ralph Hasenhutt’s side avoid losing their talisman for free next summer when his contract at St Mary’s expires.
