CEDRIC SOARES and wife Filipa have jetted off to the Maldives to make the most of their summer break at a jaw-droppingly beautiful, £3,500-a-night resort.
The Arsenal defender, 29, has not been named in Fernando Santos’ Portugal squad for the upcoming European Championship.

The former Southampton right-back sits behind Joao Cancelo and Nelson Semedo in the pecking order.
But 34-cap international Soares has softened the blow of his snub.
Instead of grinding on the training pitch, the Gunners star has instead jetted off to enjoy a little slice of paradise with his wife in a luxury, ‘floating’ villa.
The pricey pad comes kitted out with a huge water slide connecting their room to the glittering, crystal clear, green-blue sea.
It also boasts a private beach, whirlpool, sauna, bar and two swimming pools – one indoors and one outside on the sun-drenched terrace.
Cedric and Filipa also took advantage of the sea hammocks, enjoying an afternoon laze by the ocean.
The luxury resort – with villas costing £3,500 per night – also features an outdoor cinema and telescope viewing point to stare at the stars, as well as a host of restaurants.
But Filipa was clearly enjoying the holiday, as she shared a short video of herself soaking up the sun in a bikini captioned: “Good morning, paradise.”

For the loved-up couple it appeared to be a short break away from their daughter Siena.
Cedric and Filipa welcomed their first child to the world earlier this season, in November, following a secret pregnancy.
On announcing the surprise news, the Arsenal ace posted a photo of himself on social media cradling his Siena in his arms alongside the word ‘Blessed’ and heart emojis.
Filipa posted her own snaps of the new-born, writing: “Siena. Love is our true destiny.
“We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone, we find it with another.”
