What winning the Scudetto means for Milan in the Champions League group stage draw

AC Milan’s Scudetto win means more than just the amazing trophy that will be on display, as it also has ramifications regarding next season and the draw for the Champions League group stages.

With the success of Reggio Emilia and the consequent 19th league title, Milan will be in pot one for the draw that will take place during the closed season, joining the other winners of Europe’s main leagues as well as Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt.

Despite a UEFA coefficient ranking of 38,000 points which is lower than almost all of the other confirmed sides in the draw, winning the league means pot one and in theory a slightly more favourable draw than 2021-22.
