“We have a common vision”

AC Milan director Paolo Maldini thanked the Globe Soccer Awards as his work and that of Ricky Massara was recognised at tonight’s ceremony.

Maldini and Massara won the award of best Sporting Directors of the year at the 2022 edition of the Globe Soccer Awards and the former Milan captain collected the trophy to the great applause of the audience.

Maldini also spoke on stage to express his gratitude at having won the award, while he also spoke a bit about his relationship with Massara who is often a less vocal member of the tandem but is very much just as important.

“Thank you, it’s a great honour. It’s a new chapter for me. We have a common vision in football, but in general we share the principles of life, it’s very easy for me to work with him,” Maldini said (via MilanNews).

There is no doubting the importance of the director duo and the role that they have played in helping transform Milan from a side lucky to make the Europa League places to one fighting to defend their Scudetto and one that can look forward to a Champions League last 16 tie against Spurs.
