Tottenham and Arsenal are in danger of missing out on summer target Orkun Kokcu after AC Milan held talks over signing the midfielder.
The two north London clubs are set to compete for the Turkey international this summer, but the Italian giants have now stepped up their interest.
It emerged in Italy last week that Kokcu’s representatives had visited AC Milan’s HQ over a potential move for the 20-year-old to Serie A this summer.

It means Spurs and Arsenal face the prospect of losing the race to sign the Feyenoord star, despite both clubs registering an interest.
The 20-year-old is viewed as one of the brightest talents in Europe and is attracting admiring glances from across the continent.
Arsenal were understood to be advanced in their interest having tried to sign the player in 2020 but the emergence of AC Milan’s talks will arrive as a setback to the Gunners.
Despite the uncertainty over who will be Tottenham’s head coach next season following the sacking of Jose Mourinho recruitment staff have identified Kokcu as a player who can help improve the team’s fortunes next season regardless of who is in charge.

Returning from a two month injury lay-off in January, he was picked in the Eredivisie team of the month for February and March and named the Dutch top-flight’s young player of the month for March.
He scored his fourth goal of the season against Hercules on Wednesday night.
Feyenoord are fighting to qualify for Europe next season and if they fail, the Dutch club could be forced to sell Kokcu for a cut price fee to make up the shortfall in income.
