Thiaw gearing up for a second consecutive start with Kjaer set to rest

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli looks set to put faith in Malick Thiaw for tonight’s game against Fiorentina at San Siro, a report claims.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Pioli is expected to give Kjaer some rest after he was called up for the World Cup with the Danish national team, so he should start the game from the bench.

That means that Thiaw is heading towards a second consecutive start but this time at centre-back rather than on the right side of the defence, with Fikayo Tomori and Pierre Kalulu also joining him as well as Theo Hernandez on the left side.

The gradual integration of the summer additions continues as Pioli seems to be more trusting of the German U21 international, while we must wait and see if the likes of Yacine Adli and/or Aster Vranckx could play a role off the bench in the second half.
