AC Milan

Milan will use all the money from UCL qualification to strengthen the squad

AC Milan have qualified for the 2023-24 edition of the Champions League with a game to spare, and that unlocks additional funding for the summer window.

Given that the Rossoneri have no debts as a club, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) report that the additional €50m in incoming will be used entirely in the summer transfer window to reinforce Stefano Pioli’s squad.

To further increase the budget there will be some sales and the savings of some big salaries – such as those of Sergino Dest and Tiemoue Bakayoko for example – which will provide further room to operate.

Daichi Kamada will arrive for free from Eintracht Frankfurt and then the management want a central midfielder, with the number one name on the list being Ruben Loftus-Cheek, for whom Chelsea are asking for €25m. The alternative is Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo.

Two centre-forwards could arrive too with the priority being Lois Openda, who is valued at €30-35m by RC Lens. His potential arrival would not exclude a further signing such as Marko Arnautovic of Bologna, to ensure there are three strikers capable of providing contribution when factoring in Olivier Giroud’s stay.
