Milan must begin title defence with the same principles that won them the Scudetto

AC Milan begin their title defence at home against Udinese tonight, and for Stefano Pioli’s side the key will be to maintain and build on certain game principles.

MilanNews writes how Milan will take to the field against Udinese this evening at 18:30 CEST with the aim of retaining the Scudetto in 2022-23 and consequently adding a second star above the club badge on their shirt.

To achieve this goal, Pioli indicated in yesterday’s press conference that the same principles from last season must be replicated both on and off the field. He revealed that he has seen his players with the ‘same attitudes of the past season and this always makes me think positively’.

Milan have a strong squad that won the Scudetto and therefore they are the team to beat heading into the new campaign, even if the bookmakers don’t think so as they believe Inter and Juventus are stronger.

The absence of Tonali will see Krunic trusted in the double pivot, with the trio of new signings De Ketelaere, Adli and Origi on the bench ready to come on and make an impact.
