Man Utd transfer round-up: Jesse Lingard decision made and Mauro Arambarri offer imminent

Manchester United are set for an active summer transfer window as they look to close the gap on Premier League champions, and fierce rivals, Manchester City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has overseen an encouraging season for the Red Devils, securing second place in the top-flight and reaching the Europa League final.

But there remains several weak spots in the United squad, with defence and midfield two areas that require reinforcements.

The Red Devils will also need to decide what to do with the fringe members of Solskjaer’s squad, as well as those players who will be returning from loans.

Right-back Dalot has spent the season on loan at AC Milan, helping the San Siro side to a likely top four spot in Serie A.

The loan spell has been so successful that Calciomercato report that the 22-year-old wants to stay in Milan, as long as United and the Rossoneri can agree a fee.

Manchester United are reportedly set to submit a bid for Getafe midfielder Mauro Arambarri this week.

Arambarri has been a virtual ever-present in José Bordalás’ side, scoring three goals in 35 games to help them to avoid relegation from La Liga.

The Uruguayan has clearly impressed United, with Traspasos claiming that the Red Devils will make an offer for the 25-year-old “in the coming days”.

It has previously been claimed that Arambarri would be a relatively cut-price arrival, with the midfielder valued around the £26m mark.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to have stated his plan for the future of Jesse Lingard.

Lingard has impressed on loan at West Ham over the second half of the campaign, scoring nine goals to boost their hopes of European qualification.

Despite his performances though, The Athletic report that it will not be enough for the midfielder to force his way into Solskjaer’s plans.

They say that the Norwegian would prefer to sell Lingard this summer, with his value high, rather than bring him back into the United squad.
