Juventus legend Marcello Lippi admits he grew up supporting AC Milan


Legendary former Juventus manager Marcello Lippi has admitted that he was in fact an AC Milan fan while he was growing up as a young boy.

Lippi is best known as the man who led Italy to winning the 2006 FIFA World Cup but he was also the manager of Juventus and Inter winning five Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia and four Italian Supercups.

He lifted the UEFA Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup in 1996 with Juventus and in the last decade he turned towards China where he won the AFC Champions League in 2013 with Guangzhou Evergrande.

During the ceremony for the 37th ‘Viareggio Sport – Gherardo Gioe’ Award, Lippi presented an award to Adriano Galliani and admitted that he was actually a Milanista when he was younger, with his comments relayed byMarcello Lippi.

“As a boy I had a liking for Milan but after so many years at Juventus I feel tied to this club. I would like to remind everyone that in the 90s Juventus and AC Milan were in practice protagonists both in Italy and abroad,” he said.
