The AC Milan management will soon meet with the entourage of Olivier Giroud to try reach an agreement over renewing his deal, a report claims.
According to what was reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) this morning, the meeting between the Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara with Giroud’s entourage is scheduled for tomorrow to resume the dialogue regarding the renewal of his deal, which expires in June.
The will of both parties is to continue together, but the salary is an aspect that will have to be negotiated given that the French centre-forward would like an upward adjustment that would see him earn the same as Divock Origi (€4m net per season).
Giroud currently receives €3.5m net per year so it would not be a huge pay hike, and at the moment it is expected that he will extend another season with Milan with an option for a second.
