Fussball: Milan lead Zirkzee race

AC Milan are destined to sign a striker in the upcoming summer mercato, and a report has claimed that they are the favourites to sign their long-term number-one target.

In recent months, Milan have been infatuated with Joshua Zirkzee and partnered with his good performances in the same period, their interest has only grown. However, the Dutchman has also piqued the interest of several other European heavyweights, such as Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

As a result, the Rossoneri had begun taking a greater interest in searching for alternatives if a deal became improbable, but the Bologna forward remained at the top of the list. Today, a report from Germany has suggested that the Zirkzee could be destined for Milano.

Fussball.news have reported that Milan are in a ‘pole position’ to sign Zirkzee because he feels at home in Serie A, making a move away from the league less appealing. The report continues, detailing that the move would cost in the region of €35 to €40 million, and whilst a move has not yet been decided, the Diavolo have a strong position currently.

Zirkzee has been a revelation for Bologna under Thiago Motta this season, and he has all the traits to improve Stefano Pioli’s side instantly, given his adaptability, technicality and goal-scoring threat.
