Barcelona are keeping a close eye on AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli.
Ronald Koeman has made no secret of his desire to add defensive reinforcements to his squad and the Italian is yet another on his long list of candidates.
The centre-back’s contract is up in 2022 and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, is showing no keenness on renewing his current deal.
Milan are trying to renew his contract but the Italian international is holding out for a higher salary than what his current club offers him.
Given this situation, Milan could consider the possibility of selling him this summer so as to gain some money from a fee, rather than losing him for nothing next summer.
Yet, given Barcelona‘s current financial situation, it is unclear whether they will be able to offer a significant fee this summer.
Koeman is already set to welcome Eric Garcia on a free in June, adding to Oscar Mingueza, Ronald Araujo, Clement Lenglet and Gerard Pique.
