Aftonbladet: Ibrahimovic’s betting involvement cleared by FIFA and UEFA

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic didn’t comply with FIFA and UEFA’s ethics rules with regard to sports betting. AC Milan and the striker were fined but the matter has now been closed.

Ibrahimovic, through his company Unknown AB, owns 10% of a company called Gameday that, in turn, owns Betting company Bethard. Therefore, as reported by Aftonbladet, the striker was fined €50K by UEFA and Milan were fined €25K as well.

After that, Gameday decided to sell Bethard but they are still involved in the company for the foreseeable future. Furthermore, Gameday still has a lot of interests in the gambling world and this has made it all a bit confusing.

Either way, as the newspaper continues, UEFA have confirmed that Ibrahimovic has taken the necessary actions to solve the matter. FIFA refused to comment on the matter but he was also been cleared by them, it has been confirmed.
