Mikel Arteta ’s side finished eighth in the Premier League last season and will be without European football for the first time in 26 years next term.

With the European Championships still ongoing, there has been plenty of time for Arteta and technical director Edu to scour the market for gems, with the likes of Ben White, Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga tipped to sign.

Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest transfer news regarding Arsenal.

Smith Rowe emerged as an important part of Arteta’s team in the second half of last season

Arteta is keen to keep Smith Rowe at the Emirates following an impressive campaign.

Villa are now set to increase their offer for the 20-year-old on the £30million bid that was last rejected.

The interest could well be down to the potential departure of Jack Grealish, who has been touted as a Manchester City target this summer.

Guendouzi ‘concerned’ by Arsenal situation

Outcast Matteo Guendouzi has admitted he is ‘concerned’ about Arsenal’s current plight after the Gunners’ disappointing term.

The French midfielder spent the 2020-21 term on loan at Hertha Berlin and is set to leave the Emirates this summer, having been cast aside by Arteta since a controversial June 2020 match at Brighton and Hove Albion.

As well as commenting on the campaign, Guendouzi mentioned that he will always be a Gunner.

“I don’t know the reasons for the failure because I wasn’t there last season,” the 22-year-old told Sport Bild.

“But I’m concerned about the club’s situation because Arsenal deserve great things.

“I am a Gunner from the bottom of my heart and will remain so, no matter what.”

Sanches, 23, was one of the most impressive performers at Euro 2020 with Portugal, who crashed out to Belgium at the round-of-16.

He infamously flopped on loan at Swansea City, but things have changed since 2017.

French outlet L’Equipe claim the Gunners are eyeing Sanches up, who has rebuilt his reputation after a shock title triumph with Lille in May, although the ex-Bayern Munich man only made 14 league starts.

The Emirates hierarchy already boast a prosperous relationship with the Ligue 1 club after previously negotiating deals for Nicolas Pepe and Gabriel Magalhaes over the past two summers.
