Arsenal flop Shkodran Mustafi has suffered another humiliating moment at Schalke after being dropped from the squad for ‘sporting reasons’.
The German was allowed to leave for the Bundesliga after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta.
But he is finding his time back in his homeland tough, as well, with Schalke taking on Bayer Leverkusen.
In brutal fashion, a tweet giving fans an update on the squad revealed Mustafi had been dropped for sporting reasons.
It has been a difficult time for the 28-year-old, who is contracted with Schalke until the end of the season.
He has made six appearances in the Bundesliga where he is yet to be on the winning side, losing four of them.
During that time, the Gelsenkirchen outfit have shipped 16 goals which also saw Christian Gross sacked.
Dimitrios Grammozis has replaced him, making Schalke the first side in German history to employ five different managers in one season.
They sit bottom of the Bundesliga and look doomed for relegation after winning just once all year.
Schalke have just 10 points in one of the worst campaigns from any top-tier side in history.

It is an astonishing demise for one of Germany’s biggest clubs, who went on to lose 2-1 to Leverkusen.
Also joining Schalke from Arsenal this season has been Sead Kolasinac, who was shunted out of the first-team by Kieran Tierney.
The Bosnia international spent five years with the club prior to his free transfer to the Gunners in 2017.
But it has not been the magical return he had hoped for, though the left-back is only on loan at the Velkins Arena.
