DINAMO ZAGREB 0 – 1 VILLARREAL
In the second half this game we saw a play much like the first half, except it seemed as though Dinamo’s heads went down and were struggling to produce any attack.
Krznar tried to inject some magic with the substitution of Petkovic, despite him not being fit enough to start the game due to an ongoing injury. With his return they were hoping for the fire to reignite which they had against Tottenham, but this sadly did not happen. Krznar tried all his options with multiple substitutions but the visitors controlled the match until the final whistle.
Although Villarreal managed to secure the win with a questionably awarded penalty, their game was also not what they had hoped for. Players such as Chukwueze did not play to their potential and with multiple easy shots on goal missed.
However, the visitors achieved their aim and if they should keep a clean sheet at Madrigal next week then they’re back in the UEFA semi final. They continue to remain the competition’s only unbeaten side.
