Rangers hopes of reaching the last eight of the Europa League were undone by two red cards in 12 second-half minutes.
Peter Olayinka’s powerful header gave the visitors the lead in the 14th minute.
Substitute Kemar Roofe was sent off just after the hour mark for a shocking challenge on Slavia goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar.
Leon Balogun was then dismissed for a second booking before Nicolae Stanciu sealed victory in the 74th minute.
