Milan will only sign Atalanta star Ilicic if one of two conditions is met

Milan have been heavily linked with Josip Ilicic in the last few weeks as the experienced Slovenian wants to leave Atalanta before the season starts. And for the Rossoneri, he could be very useful.

As reported by, in a transfer window that has been characterised by low-cost signing, Ilicic could indeed be an option for Milan. However, this will only happen on a few conditions, with two in mind.

The first is to sign the player on loan with an option to buy, while the other is a low compensation for a permanent deal. As of now, Atalanta have asked for €7-8m which is too much in Milan’s eyes, which you can understand.

With that said, the arrival of Ilicic wouldn’t exclude the signing of another playmaker. The 33-year-old would perhaps be more useful on the right as the Rossoneri intend to bring in a stronger name for the playmaker role.
