Daniel Maldini could be in line for first ever Serie A start against Spezia

Daniel Maldini could start against Spezia tomorrow as Stefano Pioli tried the playmaker during training, according to a report.

Manuele Baiocchini spoke to Sky (via MilanNews) and revealed that Daniel Maldini has a genuine possibility of starting tomorrow afternoon’s match against Spezia in Ligue, noting that the teenager ‘could be the great surprise’ of the game in terms of the starting XI.

Pioli tried him out this morning, and he could give some well earned rest to Brahim Diaz or to Rafa Leao, as the two who who have played every game so far this season. Daniel Maldini has done well in this first month and a half of the season and so he could have his chance tomorrow, he adds.

So far the son of Paolo Maldini has been restricted to cameo appearances off the bench in his Milan career aside from a start in the Europa League.
