Manchester United’s away kit for the 2021/22 season looks to have been leaked.
The Red Devils’ strip appears to have drawn inspiration from the early 1990s.
Details from Footy Headlines have backed up early MEN reports that the club’s next kit will adopt a similar blue and white design.
The away shirt will officially be referred to as ‘Cloud White’ – which is same colour used for the current Arsenal away strip.
It is also set to feature a blue graphic print on the fabric as well as a red adidas logo.
United’s latest kit will be the first major football shirt to feature the classic Adidas Trefoil logo which became iconic between 1971 and 1991, according to reports.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s side donned the blue and white away strip during the final days of the old Division One.
They failed to win the top flight in that period, but did claim the League Cup in 1992, beating Nottingham Forest in the final.
Club legends Steve Bruce, Dennis Irwin, Gary Palister and Ryan Giggs all wore the iconic strip.
Brian McClair scored over 40 goals during the two years in which United donned the blue and white kit.
The current side will be hoping they can wear the reported new strip in the Champions League as they close in on qualification.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were dumped out of the competition and the group stages this term and are now challenging for the Europa League.
United fans will also hope that new recruits get the chance to don the strip.
The likes of Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo are all being linked with moves to Old Trafford.
