Leaked pic shows Anthony Gordon has signed Newcastle contract after day meeting locals following transfer from Everton


ANTHONY GORDON’S transfer to Newcastle is complete, after leaked pictures revealed Gordon had signed a contract and met fans.

Newcastle are set to sign Gordon for £45million from Everton.

And while the official announcement is yet to be done, all the paperwork is understood to be signed and ready to go.

But photos showing Gordon signing his Magpies contract and leaving St James’ Park have emerged online.

It also seems the formalities were not the only thing on Gordon’s agenda.

The 21-year-old was pictured meeting fans during a shopping trip to the MetroCentre in Gateshead.

Gordon has struggled for form this season as Everton’s struggles continue to grow.

He scored three goals earlier in the campaign before refusing to turn up to training in recent days in order to force a move out of his boyhood club.

Regardless, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is understood to rate him, hence why Gordon has been on the club’s radar for so long.

The Toffees sit firmly in the relegation zone and are staring down the barrel of losing their Premier League status for the first time ever.

Indeed, should they be unable to turn their fortunes around, they will be relegated for just the third time in the club’s prestigious history and the first time since 1950-51.

Frank Lampard was sacked as the club’s manager after winning three games all season.

Sean Dyche’s appointment by Everton is expected to be announced today after a deal could not be struck with Marcelo Bielsa.

The former Leeds boss had some unorthodox demands to take over the role at Goodison Park.

This included Bielsa’s staff overseeing the first team while he took charge of the UNDER 21’S for the rest of the season before stepping up to the senior team in the summer.
