MORNING, MAN UTD FANS
So, yesterday marked the return of fans to Old Trafford after more than a year away – as United prepared to go head to head OFF the field with neighbours City for Harry Kane.
It was an emotional moment for many as the Red Devils were once again cheered on by their loyal supporters.
But, unfortunately for those inside the stadium, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men failed to do enough to win the game.
They were treated early on to a wonder strike from Edinson Cavani when his chip from 30 yards out sailed over Alphonse Areola and into the back of the net.
Credit to Fulham though, they never gave up despite having already been relegated back down to the Championship at the first time of asking.
And Scott Parker’s side got their reward 14 minutes from time when Joe Bryan headed an equaliser.
But SunSport’s exclusive revelation that United and City are willing to offer Tottenham’s wantaway England striker Kane a five-year contract work will cheer many Old Trafford supporters.
Solskjaer insisted it would be disrespectful to Spurs to discuss Kane – but he was upbeat despite only one point in the three Premier League games.
And the Norwegian boss had some inspirational words for the fans who made the trip out to the Theatre of Dreams.
He said: “We know it’s been a long long year for everyone but I’m so grateful to see you back here supporting everyone.
“Hopefully we can bring a trophy back in about ten days time.”
Can Man Utd re-find their form ahead of the Europa League final in just seven days’ time?
