Real Madrid: Roberto Carlos: There will be a conversation between Ramos and Florentino Perez to reach an agreement

Roberto Carlos, who has a senior role at Real Madrid, has admitted that he thinks Los Blancos president Florentino Perez will once again sit down with Sergio Ramos to discuss extending the captain’s contract.

Ramos has entered the final weeks of his current deal, with it set to expire on June 30, and there has not been much talk of any progression in talks, but Roberto Carlos thinks that will change.

“He is currently recovering from an injury,” Roberto Carlos said during an interview with Onze Mondial.

“I am very sure that there will be a conversation between Sergio and the president to reach an agreement. Sergio is the face of the club, a great player and we’ll see what happens.”

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe is someone that Real Madrid have been tracking for years and a move could potentially be on the cards this summer, as he is set to enter the final year of his contract at the Parc des Princes.

“I’m a big fan of Mbappe. I’m very grateful to him for putting me in his historic eleven as a left-back,” Roberto Carlos noted.

“He is a very important player in the world of football. There is a lot of talk about him coming to Real Madrid, but he has a contract with PSG.

“Our working philosophy is to wait for what the player wants, and we don’t touch players who have contracts with other clubs.”

Real Madrid‘s apparent Plan B is to see if they can lure Erling Haaland away from Borussia Dortmund, with the 20-year-old’s father and agent having already visited Los Blancos‘ training facilities a couple of months ago.

“He’s a great player, a great player,” Roberto Carlos stated.

“A lot of people didn’t know him. Over the last two years he has been improving game after game, season after season. He’s a player with a lot of qualities that any club in the world would want.”

Carlo Ancelotti has returned to Real Madrid as Zinedine Zidane‘s replacement, which is something that Roberto Carlos is happy about.

“I’m very happy he’s coming back. He knows Real Madrid and the players well,” the Brazilian said.

“It’s easier to sign a coach like that. We wish him the same luck as he has had in the past.”
