Eden Hazard may not yet be fit to return to action just yet, but he is with the Belgium national team under the watchful supervision of the medical staff.
Roberto Martinez confirmed that the Real Madrid star had linked up with his country in a press conference, and that he is in contact with his club on a frequent basis.
“Yes, he is with us,” Martinez said about Hazard. “We are in constant contact with Real Madrid to try to give the player everything he needs.
“Obviously he does not play, but he works with the doctors here and with those in Madrid.”
As MARCA reported on March 15, the forward was thinking of undergoing surgery to resolve his ankle discomfort which has caused him repeated injuries this season.
The last setback came after playing just a few minutes against Elche on March 13, and is not expected back until April.
The Belgian is not only striving to turn his fortunes around at Real Madrid but also to return in time, and reach peak fitness, for the European Championship this summer.
