LaLiga Santander: LaLiga announce new kick-off times for Matchday 38

LaLiga have switched up the kick-off times for the final round of fixtures in LaLiga Santander, with any matches that have anything riding on it taking place on Saturday at 18:00 CEST.

This includes Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, who are battling for the LaLiga Santander title, as well as the teams jostling for European positions and to remain in the division.

“Having analysed the results of yesterday’s Matchday 37 and in order to preserve the integrity of the competition, the fixtures for those games that have a bearing on the final LaLiga Santander standings have been changed to Saturday, May 22,” LaLiga announced in a statement.

Saturday will therefore decide who wins the LaLiga Santander title, with this being a two-horsed battle between current leaders Atletico and second-placed Real Madrid.

Then there is the fight to see how the Europa League positions pan out. Real Betis, Real Sociedad and Villarreal have secured their place in Europe, but it is not known in what order they will finish and who will go to the UEFA Conference League.

Finally, Saturday will determine who avoids relegation, with Real Valladolid, Elche and Huesca all looking to avoid joining the seemingly doomed Eibar in the Segunda Division.
