Havertz reappears on Real Madrid’s radar

Real Madrid‘s need to find something more for its attack, Joselu aside, has led to the continuous appearance of names of options from around Europe. Of all of them, Kai Havertz has emerged as a strong contender.

The German was target three years ago, and the dream of playing with Los Blancos is once again on his mind. His name and that of others was discussed on Thursday at the meeting held between Florentino Perez, Jose Angel Sanchez and Carlo Ancelotti in Valdebebas.

The pandemic that appeared in 2020 paralyzed the world for months and, with it, the activity of the soccer world. In the months leading up to the pandemic, Real Madrid was working on the signing of Havertz, then a Bayer Leverkusen player. Everything was on track, the player was in agreement and an understanding with the German club was in the pipeline. However, Real Madrid, in response to the slowdown in revenue, stopped any kind of signings. Havertz waited, but the moment of decision arrived and Bayer Leverkusen could not say no to Chelsea‘s proposal.

Three years later, Havertz is back on the scene. The German is still to the liking of the Spanish giants, and a move could be on the cards.

Reinforcing the attack

Now we still have to find out the new Chelsea coach’s decision regarding the future of the German, a player who has three more years on his contract and although it is true that during the current season he has lost some prominence, Chelsea‘s change of direction has become a question mark for many players of a team that has been left out of Europe, another factor to be taken into account.

Real Madrid is at the stage of analyzing the market. Reports point to the need to reinforce the attack and there are several options on the horizon.

From the very complicated options like Harry Kane, who does not seem willing to leave the Premier League, to the discarded ones like Roberto Firmino or Mauro Icardi, to those who have offered themselves as Kolo Muani or others who without being offensive references can fit into that role taking into account what there is in the squad as the desired Havertz or Karim Adeyemi.

What the Real Madrid higher-ups agree on is that the squad must be reinforced, something that the coach demands in order to be able to aspire to everything.
