Zinedine Zidane really wasn’t left with much choice when naming his line-up against Getafe on Sunday night.
Despite the fact that Real Madrid were missing several key players through injury, COVID-19 or suspension, they held on to claim a valuable point.
Once again, Thibaut Courtois performed his party piece for Real Madrid. Getafe were unable to find a way past him, and his save to deny Enes Unal in the second half was particularly show-stopping.
Eder Militao continued his good form of late, marshalling the backline himself at the Coliseum. The only fright he was given was when Getafe‘s players called for a penalty when he challenged Unal in the first half.
Mariano Diaz had the bit between his teeth as he started in place of Karim Benzema up front. After having a goal ruled out for offside, he came within inches of directing in a header, with David Timor on hand to keep it out.
Antonio Blanco came off the bench in the second half to make his debut for Real Madrid, making a good first impression in the process. He won duels and looked comfortable on the ball in midfield.
