Gibraltar 0-7 Netherlands: Netherlands run riot in Gibraltar

Memphis Depay scored twice as the Netherlands racked up a 7-0 win over Gibraltar as part of World Cup qualifying on Tuesday night.

Gibraltar goalkeeper Dayle Coleing performed heroics to keep the score down in the first half, with Steven Berghuis‘ goal the only difference at the break.

The visitors were rampant in the second period, though, with Sevilla’s Luuk de Jong doubling their lead by converting Berghuis‘ cross.

Depay‘s deflected free kick made it 3-0, while there were more goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and Donyell Malen before the 65th minute.

Two late strikes – one each for Donny van de Beek and Depay – in the closing stages completed the rout and put the Dutch second in their qualifying group.
