Barcelona forward Ansu Fati has spoken of his dream of playing at Euro 2020 after winning the NXGN 2021 award.
Picking up the award for the top male wonderkid in football, the 18-year-old looked ahead to the summer but insisted he has to focus on recovering properly first.
“I hope I can be [at Euro 2020], but first I have to recover from the injury,” Ansu Fati told Goal.
“I don’t know what will happen in the future, but it is a dream for any player to be able to play a European Championship.
“I don’t set goals, but I do try to improve day by day, growing as a player, and as a person.”
Ansu Fati is currently recovering from a torn meniscus in his left knee picked up in November, and in February he had to undergo further surgery on the area.
There’s no date set yet for his return, but a fit Ansu Fati could be a real boost for Spain this summer.
