Real Madrid – La Liga: Florentino Perez presents candidacy for Real Madrid presidency

After calling for elections last week, Florentino Perez officially presented his candidacy for the Real Madrid presidency on Friday.

Los Blancos’ Electoral Board approved his candidacy, which is expected to be the only one to be presented, with Perez set to extend his 12-year run in charge of Real Madrid.

All the essential paperwork, including the candidacy members’ signatures, has been presented through Perez’s representative Eduardo Fernandez de Blas.

Now, there is a period of two calendar days for any appeals against the candidacy to be presented.

Despite rumours of other potential candidates being willing to participate in the elections, Perez will be the only candidate again and the electoral process will be concluded without the club holding a vote.
