Raul Gonzalez has been an exemplary professional throughout his entire career, firstly as a player and now as a coach.
He’s a club legend at Real Madrid, and understands the importance of pulling on that white shirt more than anyone.
While the club were looking for their new head coach, Raul was going about his business with his Castilla side alongside Manu Fernandez.
“I’m an employee of the club,” he said.
“This is my home and here I where I want to be, where I feel like I belong.
“I became a coach to stay here but it’s not the time to talk about anyone’s future, but to be proud of being here and to have competed in a very important year.”
Real Madrid is his home, and it’s set to stay that way for a while. Los Blancos have made the correct decision to stick with him for the upcoming season.
The club are aware, however, that keeping hold of him may be difficult with Eintracht Frankfurt already showing interest and with others surely to follow.
